Many people have expressed their utmost shock and surprise after South Africa’s Tyla, won the ‘Best African Music Performance’ at the 66th Grammy Awards.

Her global monster hit song ‘Water’ came on top of the likes of ‘Amapiano’ by Asake, ‘City Boys’ by Burna Boy, ‘Unavailable’ by Davido and ‘Rush’ by Ayra Starr.

The 2024 Grammy Awards ceremony was held in the United States of America (USA) on Sunday, February 4, and saw a lot of spectacular performances including awards presentation by Celine Dion.

Many people have shared their congratulatory messages on social media to Tyla for being the first African musician to achieve such a feat which was a maiden category.

DJ Azonto, Ghana’s Amapiano King, has also sent congratulations to Tyla but he emphasized that he could have easily won that category if his song ‘Fa No Fom’ was nominated.

He said “Congrats to Tyla for winning big but my song Fa No Fom could have won over Tyla’s Water at the Grammys. I’m also about to release my latest song, Lamborghini”.

“As for Burna Boy, Davido and all the other Nigerian artistes who got nominations alongside Tyla, it is obvious that Fa No Fom is bigger than all their songs combined”.
