The actor and comedian Adalberto Martínez “Resortes” was born in Mexico City on January 25, 1916. He lived with his family in the Tepito neighborhood, he did not have many resources and was the second of 7 siblings. He suffered abuse from his uncle Ramón Martínez, which caused his aunt, Mrs. Constanza Vicochea, to request guardianship of him. He began his career at the age of 15 performing at Teatro Hidalgo and began performing “tent” seasons.
Resorte was an excellent dancer, he frequently visited dance halls. He headed the company Pachuco’s Review, with which he toured Mexico and Latin America. In 1946 he debuted on the big screen with the film Voices of Spring. He participated in many films such as I slept with a ghost (1947), Confidencias de un routero (1949), The Baseball Phenomenon (1951), The King of Mexico (1955), Asesinos, SA (1956), I Want to Be an Artist (1957) , From the Ground I Don’t Pass (1958), La Chamaca (1960), El dengue del amor (1965), Los albañiles ( 1976 ) and Día de Difuntos (1988), among many others. In Mexico he is considered one of the most famous actors and dancers in the history of national cinema. He died on April 4, 2003, in Mexico City, due to a lung infection, caused by many years of excessive smoking.
