Donna Vekić began her professional tennis career in 2010. She made her debut at the ITF tournament in Makarska, Croatia, where she reached the quarterfinals. Later that year, Vekić played her first WTA Tour event at the PTT Pattaya Open in Thailand, where she lost in the first round.
In 2011, Vekić won her first ITF tournament in Antalya, Turkey, and reached the final of the ITF event in Istanbul, Turkey. She also made her Grand Slam debut at the French Open, where she lost in the first round.
In 2012, Vekić reached her first WTA Tour final at the Copa Colsanitas in Bogotá, Colombia, where she lost to Monica Puig. She also made her debut at the US Open and reached the second round.
Vekić continued to progress in her career, and in 2013 she reached her first WTA Tour final in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and won her first WTA title in the same year in Istanbul.
Since then, she has reached multiple WTA finals and won more than one tournament.
