Francis X. ‘Frank’ Murphy – Francis, primarily referred to as Frank in the show is an Irish-American. He is a disillusioned and hot-tempered man who works for the local Mohican Airline. The Korean War veteran often devotes his time to profane speeches and subjects his children to emotional abuse. He is voiced by Bill Burr

Sue Murphy – She is the wife and mother of Frank, who fights for their three children. Sue Murphy, who is voiced by Laura Dern, sells Plat-a-Ware alongside a tough husband and three kids.

Kevin Murphy – The eldest of the Murphy children is a rebellious person who spends his time smoking a lot of weed. He is an aspiring but struggling rock musician. Kevin is voiced by Justin Long.

Bill Murphy – Voiced by Haley Reinhart. He is Murphy’s middle son and middle child who suffers from what is known as middle child syndrome. He also has anger issues.

Maureen Murphy – Frank and Sue’s last child is brought to life by Debi Derryberry. Although perceived as a sweet little girl, Maureen is a problematic child, much like her older siblings. Her interests in traditionally male pursuits preoccupy Frank, who considers her his favorite child.

Vic – He’s the Murphys’ wealthy neighbor whom Frank despises; he is voiced by the amazing Sam Rockwell. The character is based on David Wooderson who was played by Matthew McConaughey in Dazed and Confused
