Robert Irwin has amazed his fans be plunging into a face off with a Great White Shark.

The 19-year-old zoo keeper and conservationist performed the stunt for the cameras during a Discovery+ ‘Crikey It’s  Shark Week’ special.

Video loaded to YouTube shows the celebrity Wildlife Warrior donning a wet suit and scuba gear before being loaded into a shark-proof cage in waters where sharks feed.

In one heart stopping moment in the video Robert comes within arms length of a 13-foot (3.9metre) male shark as it swims by his cage.

‘He made a beeline right for the cage, that was amazing,’ Robert says on-camera, in re-action to the giant creature.

Steve, known to millions around the world as ‘the Crocodile Hunter’, died on September 4, 2006, at the age of 44 after being pierced in the chest by a stingray while filming a documentary in Batt Reef, Queensland.

The reptilian patient, nicknamed Captain Pete, was a massive loggerhead sea turtle Robert was helping to nurse back to health.

‘Check out one of our latest Wildlife Hospital patients. Captain Pete is the biggest loggerhead sea turtle I’ve ever seen!’ Irwin said.

‘Today we’re going to get him out of the water, do a full work over and see how he’s going,’ he continued.
